History

Palmer House is located in the Broadview on the 6th and 7th floors. The sixth floor of Palmer has student rooms and the RH apartment, the seventh floor has student rooms, the lounge, and the RA room. Palmer has 65 students, about 40 upperclassmen and 25 first-years or transfer students.

Culture

While there are some residents who come to Palmer for the privacy and generally quiet surroundings, most are interested and energetic about IM sports, house trips, cultural shows, and similar programming. The RA is one of the prime sources of this energy, particularly to help establish it at the beginning of the year and then sustain it throughout. The House Council meets Sunday nights directly before the House Meeting and study break. Wednesday night has traditionally been the RA coffeehour. Thursday is movie night. The building houses relatively few students overall, so there is some amount of inter-house relationships to be mindful of. The housing staff, for the same reason, tends to be a fairly close-knit group.
