HistoryWendt House is named for Lisa Roets Wendt and Greg D. Wendt, AB’83, University Trustee. After Gregory D. Wendt received his AB from the College, he went on to earn his MBA from Harvard University in 1987. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Capital Research and Management Company, a division of Capital Group Companies. He was elected as a Trustee of the University in 2006. Lisa Roets Wendt received her AB from Boston University. The Wendts have two children. Mr. and Mrs. Wendt have made a tremendous impact on the lives of students in recent years, establishing the Roets-Wendt Scholarship Fund, the Westin-Wendt Scholarship Fund, and supporting the ARCHEUS Scholarship Fund and the Trustee Odyssey Scholarship Fund. They have also made generous contributions to the Jeff Metcalf Internship Program, and regularly provide unrestricted support to the University. In addition to his leadership on the Board, Mr. Wendt serves on the Visiting Committee on the College and Student Activities, the College Campaign Council, and the Alumni Schools Committee. CultureWendt House is characterized by a comfortable and motivating learning environment and "eternal optimism" of its residents. Wendt House residents take the pleasure in participating in the diverse interests of their Housemates, ranging from philosophy, politics and science to arts, sports and music. The mood is quiet during the day, and vivid and intellectually exciting at night. We enjoy having stimulating conversations about current events at the House table, and exchanging comments while watching tragically ridiculous movies at movie nights. We are the only house with an official House Troubadour! |
