Cleaning and Bathroom Supplies

Students with private baths--in Blackstone, Broadview, Stony Island, Max Palevsky, and South Campus--have to provide their own bathroom tissue and cleaning supplies. In halls with community bathrooms, paper products will be provided. Most residence halls provide cleaning tools (brooms, dust pans, mops and vacuum cleaners) and laundry aides (irons and ironing boards).

Kitchens

If a room does not have a full apartment kitchen, heat-producing cooking appliances are prohibited. If planning to utilize an apartment kitchen, students living in Blackstone, Stony Island, and South Campus have to provide their own kitchen supplies (cookware, dishes, utensils). All residence halls also have a community kitchen, and many Houses have a House kitchen for occasional cooking.  Check with the resident staff in the community to learn what supplies are available for common use.  Typically students need to supply their own dishes, cups/mugs, and utensils.

Halogen lamps

Halogen lamps are prohibited in the residence halls. If a room requires additional lighting, students may request lamps via work order, or provide non-halogen lamps on their own.

Decorations

Students who plan to bring decorations such as posters should not bring nails to hang them; instead, to prevent room damages, please use substances similar to poster-tac.
