- All of the residence halls have community kitchens or small kitchenettes that are available for student use. In some halls, membership fees or requirements of membership exist.
- Residents are fully responsible for keeping the facilities clean. The housekeeping staff will not clean stoves or clean and defrost refrigerators.
- Cooking is permitted only in rooms and apartments with kitchens at Campus North, Granville-Grossman, and Stony Island. Cooking is not permitted in any other student room.
- Most community kitchens offer basic cookware/bakeware for general resident use. Some of the larger community kitchens which collect fees also provide basic staples for resident use.
