The Housing Activities Resources Council
In Fall 2016, the Housing Activities Resources Council (HARC) merged with Inter-House Council (IHC). HARC retains it name but is also now known as the “IHC Finance Committee”. HARC is a body of students representing each residence hall. The purpose of HARC is to disburse funds for events that promote social interaction between Houses in different residence halls. HARC meets during the 3rd, 6th and 9th week of the fall and winter quarters, and during 3rd, 5th, 7th week of the spring quarter to hear, discuss, and vote on proposals. Students planning events with an opportunity for involvement from other residence halls are encouraged to apply for HARC funding. Plan something fun, and apply!
HARC meets to consider proposals (3rd, 6th, and 9th week of Fall & Winter quarters; 3rd, 5th, 7th week of Spring quarter) on Mondays at 4:30 pm in the South Lounge on the 2nd floor of the Reynold’s Club.
Proposals should be submitted to the HARC Chair at least two weeks before an event takes place, and at least 48 hours before a HARC meeting.
Please submit your proposal by email to the HARC Chair, William Liu (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please remember the following important points:
An event must include at least two Houses in different residence halls.
Students (not Housing & Residence Life staff) should organize events when applying for HARC funding.
Students must apply for funding at least two weeks before the date of the event. After the deadline, students who still would like to make a proposal for funding must receive consent from the HARC External Chair.
This list of requirements is not complete. The HARC Handbook contains all the guidelines for how an event must be planned to be eligible for HARC funding.
