We hope your Autumn Quarter has gone well and you are enjoying your time on campus. We are reaching out with information on the break periods to aid you with planning throughout the remainder of the academic year.
Thanksgiving Break
Monday, November 20 – Friday, November 24
Residence halls remain open during the Thanksgiving break. Students are welcome to remain in residence without requesting permission.
Winter Break
12 PM, Saturday, December 9 – 8 AM, Monday, January 1
Residence halls are closed for winter break. Students are required to make their own housing arrangements during the above period as very limited on-campus housing is available during the break period.
To request on-campus housing for any reason during any portion of the above period, you must submit a formal request through the myHousing portal (myApplications > Winter Break 2023-2024). This request process will open at 8 AM tomorrow, Friday, November 3 and will close at 11:59 PM, Sunday, November 19. Late requests will not be considered.
Only students living on-campus during the Autumn Quarter who also intend to return to on-campus housing Winter Quarter are eligible for winter break housing. If you do not meet all of the criteria, you must make alternate break housing arrangements
Students returning to on-campus housing for Winter Quarter do not need to remove all belongings from their housing assignment, rather only need to take those items they require over the break period.
Specific details about winter break closing procedures will be communicated closer to that time period.
Spring Break
Saturday, March 9 – Sunday, March 17
Residence halls remain open during the spring break. Only students already living on-campus Winter Quarter who also intend to return to on-campus housing Spring Quarter are welcome to remain in residence without requesting permission.
Students moving out of on-campus housing at the end of Winter Quarter are not eligible to remain in housing during the break and must move out by 12 PM, Saturday, March 9.
End of Year Move Out
Non-Graduating Students: By 3 PM, Saturday, May 25;
Graduating Students: By 3 PM, Sunday, June 2
Residence halls close at the end of the academic year based upon a student’s graduation status. All in-person final exams will be completed by Friday, May 24.
Due to the need to prepare the halls for summer conference operations and maintenance projects, extensions beyond a student’s move out deadline are not possible.
Specific details about end of year closing procedures will be communicated closer to that time period.
