Changing Your Room Selection
The academic year room change process will open in the myHousing portal at 9 AM on Monday, October 2. To submit a request to change assignments, login to the portal, select My Applications > Room Change Request and follow the steps and instructions provided.
Resident Dean Activities Day
Join the staff of your residence hall for activities that allow you to connect to other students hosted by your Resident Deans. This is your introduction to the recreational, cultural, and educational programs your Resident Deans will offer in the upcoming year. Please look for updates in your residence hall and during your community meetings.
House Council
Are you interested in ways to get involved in your house? House Council elections are underway! The House Council represents the needs and interests of their particular house and facilitates relationships with Campus Partners. Reach out to your Resident Head for more information. Elections end October 2, 2023 at 5pm.
Work Order Requests
For all residence halls (except Woodlawn Residential Commons), click here to submit service requests for your room.
If you live in Woodlawn Commons, click here to submit work requests to the Woodlawn staff.
Make sure you submit your Room Condition Forms as soon as you receive them through email or your the myHousing Portal.
If you have an urgent matter that needs to be addressed right away, then please visit the front desk staff of your building.

Homecoming Banner Competition
Don’t miss out on this UChicago tradition! Each house is invited to create a banner for the Homecoming House Banner Competition. The top 3 winning houses win treats for a study break for your house. How can you participate?
- Register your House.
- Pick up supplies from the Center for Leadership and Involvement (5706 S. University Ave.) from October 5-10. Completed (and dry!) banners are due back to CLI by 10am on October 11.
- Attend the Homecoming Block Party on Saturday, October 14. If two members of your house attend, you can march with your banner in the Homecoming parade. If 5+ members attend, you can win 20 extra votes in the competition!
- Vote for your favorite banner and see which house wins the prize this year! You can vote online or at the Block Party.

The mission of UChicago Student Wellness is to provide students with comprehensive health, counseling, and wellness services to support their academic, personal, and professional success.
Immunization Clinics
UChicago Student Wellness is hosting FREE Saturday immunization clinics on Oct. 7 and Nov. 4, 2023. The online scheduling tool will allow you to quickly and easily schedule, change, or cancel your appointment at your convenience.
Walk-ins are also welcome. Only State of Illinois required immunizations will be administered at the Saturday clinics.
Sex in the Dark.
Have questions about sex, pleasure, sexual health, and healthy relationships?
Hear from experts from Planned Parenthood, Early to Bed, the Ryan Center for Family Planning, and UChicago Student Wellness at the Second Annual Sex in the Dark on Thursday, October 5 from 6:00-8:00pm in Hallowed Grounds.

UChicago Student Wellness offers FREE Basic and Advanced 4-week Mindfulness Meditation courses each quarter that provide instruction and practice of a variety of mindfulness, meditation and other mind/body techniques to help reduce stress. Classes take place in Bond Chapel. Learn more and sign up here.
Refresh Sleep. This is a 7-week email course that teaches you sleep hygiene habits, relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices, and cognitive strategies to reclaim your sleep. Weekly Art Therapy Open Studio.
Starting October 4th, UChicago Student Wellness is hosting Weekly Art Therapy Open Studios on every Wednesday (2 – 4: 30 p.m.). Open Studios are a non-judgmental community space where students can practice creative self-care through free art-making, that fosters mindfulness and helps them de-stress. Not sure what to make? No worries, there will be various fun art materials you can play with at your leisure! Drop in anytime and stay as long as you’d like! An art loan program, exclusively for University of Chicago students
Art to Live With offers UChicago students living in residence halls the unique opportunity to borrow original works of art to display in their dorm rooms.
This fall, choose from specially designated artworks, including new acquisitions selected by our Student Advisory Committee. Works will be loaned at no cost for the duration of the academic year. Discover a collection curated for student dorm rooms and find your match!
