New Student Room Rates

All new students are assessed the same room rate, regardless of residence hall and/or room type.

Returning Student Room Rates

Returning and visiting students are assessed the room rate that corresponds to their room type, regardless of their residence hall.

Room charges are billed per quarter. The rates above reflect the per student charge. Any questions regarding financial aid should be directed to Office of Financial Aid.

Room Charge Adjustment

Residents who depart on-campus housing prior to the end of a quarter will have that quarter’s room charge prorated or adjusted post departure. This adjustment will be made once a student has completed all departure steps and will reflect the number of nights, from the start of classes to the date all departure steps were completed. Internal verification of a student’s departure can take some time to complete, but will generally be done within 5 business days of all departure steps being completed. Inquiries concerning meal plan charges should be directed to UChicago Dining.

2024-2025 DATES

In Autumn Quarter, residents move into their housing assignment for the year. In October, room change requests open in the myHousing Portal.

During Winter Quarter, students will go on their longest break of the year. During the break, limited housing is available for students who need to remain on campus.

During Spring Quarter, students will go on spring break and wrap up the academic year as well as select their housing assignments for the following academic year. Spring Quarter is also the last quarter of the academic year where students move out of housing until the following Autumn Quarter.
