Welcome back, Maroons! On-campus residents benefit in many ways, including higher grade point averages, having fully-furnished residential spaces, enhanced safety and support services and being close to other University facilities, including classrooms, recreation facilities and dining options. 

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE ROOM SELECTION PROCESS

On February 14, 2024, students received communication with an attached Room Selection Guide detailing changes to our Room Selection Process. All returning students, who are not subject to the Housing Residency Requirement, were to opt-in by April 1, 2024 to confirm their intention to return to on-campus Housing.

Step 1: Read the room Selection Guide! This guide will provide important information regarding changes we have implemented to the returning student Room Selection Process. 

Step 2: Mark your calendar!! Room Selection can be an exciting time and we don’t want you to miss an opportunity to get the space and Group you desire. 

Step 3: Plan ahead! Decide whether you’d like to live with specific students or not. If you want to live with specific students, talk with them about their plans for Room Selection, including each of your room preferences. Have several plans going into Room Selection in case your preferences aren’t available.  

Step 4: Determine your Group Leader! Remember, you must be in a Group to participate in room selection. If you aren’t your Group’s designated leader, be sure to work with them to ensure all steps are completed before Group formation closes. 

Housing & Residence Life makes concerted effort to consider a individual student housing preferences during the assignment process, however we cannot guarantee a student’s return to their former House, Hall, or to a specific room or room type. All these preferences are influenced by space availability and overall demand for housing.
