NEW STUDENTS

YOUR COLLEGE JOURNEY BEGINS HERE

Welcome home, Maroons! Living on campus provides the opportunity to build friendships, stay close to all the University has to offer, and begin your legacy as a part of our dynamic community. We’re glad to have you here with us!

HOUSING APPLICATION

The first step to living on campus is to apply. Within the housing application, new students can provide responses to specific prompts centered around:

  • Sleeping and study habits
  • How they envision engaging within their room space with others
  • Preferences on room types and other attributes, such as gender-inclusive and single-sex housing options
  • Roommate requests
  • Select a move in time slot

STUDENT HOUSING AGREEMENT

To complete the housing application process, Students must digitally sign the Student Housing Agreement, a document which contains the terms and conditions of living in on campus housing. Students under the age of 18 at the time of completing their housing application will be prompted to have their legal guardian digitally countersign the agreement.

THE ASSIGNMENT PROCESS

New students are randomly assigned to a residence Hall and House. After each student’s residence hall and House has been determined, our Occupancy Management & Administration staff use responses to prompts from each student’s housing application to determine their room type and roommate(s)/suitemate(s) (if applicable). Not all new students will have room/suite mate(s), as on average between 25-30% of new students are assigned to single occupancy rooms.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS

New student housing assignments are released on the third Friday in August and are considered final. Students seeking a change to their housing assignment will have an opportunity to request this after the start of Autumn Quarter.
